Text reminders of bookings (16 Votes) Vote for this Feature
Send a text reminder to users of bookings the day before to remind them of their flight. (Probably a chargeable feature)
Email would be the easiest to first implement IMHO - "cron job" or scheduled task say every 30 minutes to run a quick search of database for bookings that are within the period of current time()+24 hours and time()+24.5 hours ahead, and email based on results...
Maybe a couple of reminder period options - e.g. a 3 day or week before reminder could be handy for giving a bit more notice for long-ahead bookings.
Once that's done, it wouldn't be a big step to add text as an option using one of the available Email-to-SMS services available (limited to professional subscribers perhaps - or if an unlimited texts mobile phone could be hooked up via data cable!)

Strongly support a reminder of some sort. preferably the night before the booking , but a user selectable prenotice time would be ideal.
